![]() ![]() Thus far I am unable to find anywhere on my system a mention of this mysterious Turbo Boost Technology.-) My question still remains: where in the BIOS or system does it state Turbo Boost Technology. Refer to your motherboard vendor for BIOS options to enable and disable Intel Turbo Boost Technology. You can typically enable or disable it through a switch in the desktop board BIOS. Desktop board vendors normally enable Intel Turbo Boost Technology by default. There are several Intel-released tools that will help to determine that the processor frequency is running at Turbo Boost frequency. The system info states that it has 'Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU 3.4GHz' but no mention of Turbo Boost Technology. Make sure you have an Intel Turbo Boost Technology-supported processor. And most important, make sure that the processor thermal cooling is appropriate for the system. You can check with your laptop manufacturer just to confirm. However, some cases the feature can be enabled by default. There, look for a page called CPU Configuration and set Turbo Mode to On. Ensure that the Turbo option (if available) is on in the BIOS. there are individual processors with a four digit model number, like the Core i7-6700 and the Core i5-6600K. You need to go to the BIOS by pressing Esc, F2 or Del at boot (it depends on your motherboard). ![]()
